Live baroque carillon concerts


During ‘Oudenaarde 1708’ Lode Schynkel, the fourth generation town carilloneur of the Schynkel family, plays special baroque carillon concerts on the following days:

Friday 9 May from 06.00 till 06.45 p.m. as a prelude to the international military tattoo

Sunday 11 May from 12.15 till 01.00 p.m.

Sunday 15 June from 12.15 till 01.00 p.m. for the opening of the exhibition ‘Beautiful People’

Sunday 13 July from 12.15 till 01.00 p.m. for the historical evocation of the Battle of Oudenaarde

Sunday 17 August from 12.15 till 01.00 p.m. for Zomertoeren (Summer Cycling Tours)

Sunday 14 September from 12.15 till 01.00 p.m. for Open Monumentendag (Open Monument Day)

Sunday 26 October from 12.15 till 01.00 p.m. on the final day of the event

Baroque concerts on the automatic carillon


The automatic carillon will also play suitable melodies (played in by Lode Schynkel) from 10 May till 26 October on the hour and on the half hour.

Program:

From 9 May till 8 June: theme from ‘Judas Maccabeus’ by Handel and Allegretto Cantabile by Hotteterr.  
From 8 June till 13 July: Rondino by Rameau and Menuet by Krieger
From 13 July till 17 August: King William’s March by Clarke and Gavotte by Handel
From 17 August till 21 September: Sonata in sol gr. by Scarlatti and Gavotte by Krieger
From 21 September till 26 October: Sonata in do gr. by Scarlatti and Persian March by Handel
